About the service
Even strong engineering teams can struggle when projects span Japan and Europe.
Differences in language, culture, expectations, and decision-making speed often
create invisible friction. MJ Consulting acts as a bridge between Japanese and
European stakeholders so that your monozukuri projects move forward smoothly.
Who this service is for
・European companies that want to work with Japanese development partners,
but are unsure how to start and how to communicate effectively
・Japanese manufacturers that need to coordinate with European operators,
customers, or design partners on new devices or services
・Organizations that have experienced repeated misunderstandings or delays
in cross-border projects
What I do
In this service, I support both communication and structure in Japan–Europe projects:
・Helping define realistic expectations and responsibilities on both sides
・Preparing and facilitating key meetings (online or onsite)
・Translating technical and business requirements into terms each side can understand
・Advising on how to escalate issues and reach decisions across time zones
・Introducing trusted partners in Japan when appropriate (development, QA, etc.)
How it works
- Context and stakeholder mapping
We clarify who is involved on both sides, their roles, and their expectations. - Communication and meeting design
We agree on how and how often to communicate (for example, weekly technical sync,
monthly management review), and what each meeting should achieve. - Ongoing bridge support
I join key meetings, help prepare materials, and follow up on action items
across Japan and Europe. - Partner introduction (optional)
When needed, I help you find and connect with appropriate partners in Japan,
drawing on my professional network built over decades.
Example outputs
・A clear map of stakeholders and communication channels for your Japan–Europe project
・Regular, well-structured online meetings with documented decisions and actions
・Reduced friction and fewer misunderstandings in cross-border collaboration
・Warm introductions to potential Japanese partners where appropriate
Why MJ Consulting
Having lived and worked for many years in both Japan and Europe, including Sweden
and the UK-related market context, I understand not only language differences but
also how organizations think and decide. My background in engineering, project
management, and business development allows me to translate between technical and
business perspectives as well as between cultures.
