Project Management Support

Project management grounded in development experience

MJ Consulting provides practical project management support for hardware and software development teams. We help connect technical work, business priorities and day-to-day decisions, with a clear view of dependencies, responsibilities and risks.

Founder Kazumi Masujima brings extensive hands-on experience in hardware and software development and holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. This combination informs our approach: understanding what matters in development, asking the right questions and helping teams turn plans into coordinated action.

When this support is useful

This service is for teams facing unclear priorities, difficult hardware–software dependencies, meetings without decisions or slow issue follow-up. It also supports multi-site and Japan–Europe projects where engineering and management need a shared understanding of progress and constraints.

What we help manage

Scope and priorities: Clarify project goals, deliverables, milestones and critical paths so teams understand what needs to happen and why.

Dependencies and responsibilities: Make connections between hardware and software work visible, clarify ownership and agree how issues are escalated.

Risks and decisions: Maintain practical risk and issue lists, structure reviews around evidence and decisions, and record follow-up actions.

Technical and business coordination: Help engineering and management understand each other’s constraints, priorities and decisions, including across locations.

How we work

We begin by reviewing your roadmaps, schedules and issue lists and speaking with key team members. Together, we establish practical roles, review meetings, escalation paths and reporting formats.

For an agreed period, we join project reviews, help document decisions and clarify ownership of follow-up actions. We then document the working process for handover to your internal team.

Practical outputs

Outputs may include a milestone and deliverable plan, a responsibility map, meeting agendas and decision records, and a working risk and issue list. The focus is on tools your team can use in everyday project work.
