About the service
When complex hardware and software come together in a single product, the project structure often determines success more than individual skills. MJ Consulting joins your team as a hands-on partner to design and run the day-to-day mechanics of your
development project, so that everyone knows who does what, by when, and why.
Who this service is for
・Companies running multi-site or cross-border development projects (for example,
Japan ↔ Europe) that struggle to keep everyone aligned.
・Teams that feel their engineers are capable, but progress is blocked by unclear
priorities, meetings without decisions, or slow issue follow-up.
・Organizations that want to move from “heroic firefighting” to a repeatable way
of managing product development.
What I do
In this service, I work with you as a project-side partner, not just as an advisor.
Typical activities include:
・Clarifying project goals, milestones, and critical paths
・Designing weekly and monthly review structures (who attends, what is discussed,
how decisions are recorded)
・Defining clear ownership for major tasks and risk items
・Helping connect hardware and software teams so that dependencies are visible
・Supporting communication between management and engineering in both directions
How it works
- Initial diagnosis
We review your current project documents (roadmaps, schedules, issue lists)
and talk to key members to understand how the project is actually run today. - Project structure design
We co-create a practical structure for your project: meeting cadence, roles,
escalation paths, and simple templates for reporting and decision-making. - Hands-on support
For an agreed period, I join your regular meetings, help keep discussions on track,
document decisions, and ensure follow-up items are clearly owned. - Handover
Once the structure is working, we document the process so your internal team can
continue without external support.
Example outputs
・A clear milestone and deliverable plan for the next 3–12 months
・Standardized agenda and minutes templates for key meetings
・A simple RACI-style mapping of who is responsible for what
・A practical risk and issue list that is actually used, not just archived
